You should be able to adjust your idle speed with the cruise control.

RE: Passport America or CampClub?

we just recently joined Passport. We have no complaints as it quickly more then paid for itself. We have been fulltiming for a couple of years, and had a Camp Club membership. We traveled across the US and back and never came across a CC membership park. We didn't renew. A poster asks why would a campground join the system and offer 50% off....it can be the difference of what makes an RV'er stop at his place instead of the next one down the road. In our travels this year, we are finding a lot of vacancies in RV campgrounds.

RE: Where to look for a used American Eagle

Any of the larger dealers usually have a few on stock...when I went shopping I thought the Eagle was alright and liked the way it drove, but I left with a Monaco Signature. Test drive them all and then decide.

RE: How my emergency plans went awry

For your $285.00 you could have gotten maybe 3 years of Coach Net. They (Coach Net) will not pay for a new tire.

RE: How many are still doing Mexico?

We went last January and had a great time and never once felt any uneasiness. We are planning a return trip soon. We did southern Sonora, Guaymas/San Carlos via motorhome.

RE: Any Issues; One Piece vs Split Windshields

One piece is like having a large picture window in the living room. Great views when parking in scenic areas, infield parking at Nascar, etc. No problems so far.

RE: Dry camping question.

While we were camped on the BLM, the relatives had their 5th wheel plugged into a 20amp outlet on my motorhome for a week. We just run a cord over to them from a basement outlet. We decided there was no need for both of us to run generators. THis way he could also run of my inverter when the gen was off. If high amp appliances were needed, we started the gen. My motorhome has 4 6 volt golf cart batteries, a 2500 watt invertor with 130 amp charger, a solar panel and 10 kw generator.

RE: How do you tame a runaway motorhome?

On an air brake system, isn't the emergency/park brake just utilizing the rear brakes? meaming that it is not a separate brake system?

RE: Cummins 650Hp?

Isn't the ISX the new version of the old 855's which became N14 before they became ISX?

RE: Golf Cart Batteries - I'm Amazed

I replaced my 2 large 12 volt batteries with 4 6 volt golf cart batteries. My main reason for doing so, I was on the road when the 12's went bad and was having a hard time finding replacements. Best I could do was a 2 day wait while they would be shipped in. Golf cart batteries are readily available, and they are working better then the 12's.

RE: How Do I Adjust My Fuel Tank's Outlet?

Annoying isn't it? My Sig is the same way. When my fuel guage gets around the half mark, if I turn a long curve the gen will loose prime and quit. The tank can still have near 100 gallons still in it. From what I've read on the matter, it's not an easy fix. I just keep the tank full when I know I'm going to use the gen. One fix I read about, was to slip a tube down inside the fixed tube in the tank. You'll need to use just the right sized tube so that it will be basically air tight. Some claim to have had success doing this.

RE: TURBO BOOST RESTRICTION IMPROVES MILEAGE & HP

I did a similar mod on a '95 B5.9. In my case we replaced the fuel plate and boosted the turbo pressure. HP increase from 230 to an estimated 300hp. All I know it was very noticeable. I put many miles on this RV without any problems. I didn't notice any improvement in mpg.

RE: magnum gauges

Sending unit is a common problem with these units. There are two sending units, one for the dash oil guage and one for the rear guage in the engine compartment. Check to see if the back guage is working. I had to order a sending unit from Monaco. Fixed the problem.

RE: Our first breakdown, info for DP owners

Had the same thing happen to me, the 1 inch hydraulic hose from the hyd. pump to the fan hyd. motor rubbed thru because it was laying against the frame. I was driving down an Interstate Hwy, and noticed that something was splashing against my rear camera. When I stopped, everything including the toad, on the back of the motorhome was covered in oil. I pulled off at the next exit, was able to take the hose off, drove the toad down the road a few miles and found a John Deere dealer that was able to make me a new hose. Took 7 1/2 gallons of Dexron III to fill the resouvoir back up. I believe it only holds ten gallons. The good news is these hoses and ends are very common and just about any place that can make hyd. lines can make one.

RE: Arizona suggestions?

We spent a month in AZ last winter, Tombstone, Florence, Quartzite and Apatche Jct. There are places to stay that are not even on the map. My advice is to do as we did and just go there for a month or a winter and check it out. The areas around the larger cities, like Mesa or Apatche Jct. are nice parks but they didn't allow much room for their lots. The more remote areas like Tombstone, Florence and Quartzite had twice the size lots. I personally favored the Florence Area.

RE: Where they at?

This local is up north where its nice and cool. Spending the summer in the Dakotas and Montana. Just left the Black Hills, and the RV parks said the attendance is down from previous years. We left the day before the Sturgis ralley, and I thought there was a lot of cycles in and heading towards the area. How it compares to previous years, I don't know. A gift shop owner in the Black hills area, said that he felt that the numbers appeared to be the same, but that people were spending less money. I noted that Rapid City area fuel prices were approx. 50 cents higher then its neighboring states and even Soiux Falls. My feelings also concur that there are less RV's on the road this year.

RE: Safety Question

Dump the air and see if you can crawl under the RV. I can, and have clearance with the exception of a couple areas, transmission and jacks area.
